Lake Superior Pirates Player Code of Conduct

As a member of the Lake Superior Pirates AAA Hockey Association, you are part of a tradition built on hard work, strong character, and a commitment to excellence both on and off the ice. Wearing the Pirates jersey is an honor, and with it comes the responsibility to uphold the values that define our program.

1. Work Ethic & Commitment

  • Give 100% effort in every practice, game, and training session.
  • Be on time, prepared, and focused for all team activities.
  • Show dedication to improving your skills, fitness, and knowledge of the game.
  • Embrace challenges and adversity with a positive mindset, understanding that growth comes through hard work.

2. Positive Attitude & Leadership

  • Maintain a positive and coachable attitude at all times.
  • Support and encourage your teammates, helping create a culture of respect and unity.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating maturity, responsibility, and accountability.
  • Respect all coaches, officials, and team staff, understanding that their goal is to help you succeed.

3. Good Sportsmanship & Respect

  • Play the game with integrity, respecting opponents, officials, and the rules of hockey.
  • Accept victories with humility and defeats with dignity, always learning and improving.
  • Never engage in bullying, taunting, or unsportsmanlike conduct.
  • Show respect for facilities, equipment, and the communities we represent.

4. Being a Good Teammate

  • Put the team first and embrace the brotherhood of the Pirates.
  • Communicate positively and effectively with teammates, coaches, and staff.
  • Hold yourself and your teammates accountable for meeting the team's expectations.
  • Be supportive in the locker room, on the bench, and in all team settings.

5. Representing the Pirates with Pride

  • Whether on the ice, in the locker room, or in the community, display Pirate Pride.
  • Be a role model in school, at home, and in public—our reputation is built by every player.
  • Always represent the Lake Superior Pirates with class, discipline, and professionalism.

Consequences for Violating the Code of Conduct

Violating this Code of Conduct can result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to: reduced playing time, suspension, or removal from the team. The coaching staff and organization leadership will determine appropriate consequences based on the severity of the infraction.
